Update on the Development of the School Field

We have just heard that on 1st September the Secretary of State granted planning permission for Chase New Homes to develop the School Field Site subject to certain conditions and changes from their last proposal. The main changes involve 75 dwellings instead of the 91 proposed, with 30 being affordable homes, and improved public access to the open spaces. As in the original plans there will be a multi-use sports pitch (full size cricket pitch in summer and either1 adult size football pitch or 2 youth size football pitches in the winter) and a single storey club house with 182 car parking spaces. The proposals include various biodiversity measures such as 146 new trees, areas for wild plants, bird and bat boxes etc.
