We have recently heard, thanks to Douglas Kent YG 86, that Chase New Homes have just put in a planning application to develop the school field into 91 dwellings and 2 games pitches and a clubhouse. See UTT/24/1898/PINS and S62A/2024/0057 (Check out Proposed Site Layout - Layout School Field Aug 2024.pdf)) They are using a Section 62A where they can apply directly to the Secretary of State. See also pdf of proposed site layout. Douglas plans to object as this will fundamentally change the nature of the conservation area, which applies to the whole school site. Douglas says “The deadline for comments is 12th September. As is their habit, Chase have slipped the application in quietly while many people are away on holiday!”
